I am Adel Aali, host of the History Behind News podcast and also host of the soon-to-be-launched Unravelling the Middle East podcast.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and started my career by practicing patent law. After that, I got the entrepreneurship bug and started a medical device company based on my own invention. From there, I used my legal and business experiences to consult for startups and other companies, as well as work with university students. Along the way, throughout all these years, I’ve had a passion for deep history (not the History Channel stuff).

So I launched the History Behind News podcast three years ago because I believe that American news woefully lacks perspective. Therefore, I am committed to bringing history that is researched and written by scholars accessible and enjoyable to everyone.
